The process of change in the cervix from pre cancerous cells to cancerous cells takes a very long time. Therefore if a woman avails herself for cervical screening regularly, changing lessions can be treated before it becomes cancerous.
Measures that can help achieve the 90:70;90 elimination strategy includes routine cervical screening programs, Human Papiloma Virus (HPV) Vaccination as well as treatment for precancerous and cancerous lessions.
