About Us

RAiSE Foundation is a Non – Governmental, Not for Profit sustainable organization that focuses on the improvement in Maternal and Child Health; Women Empowerment and Girl Child Education. RAiSE was established to raise awareness and spur affirmation on issues affecting the survival and growth of women and the girl child. We are involved in advocacy to improve Reproductive health rights and awareness campaigns to improve Maternal Health and Child Health. We are open to collaborations with organizations, public and private bodies with similar goals and objectives with ours.

The Maternal Mortality rate in Nigeria is 130/100,000 live births and infant mortality rate is 260/100 live births (Niger State Strategic Health Development Plan 2010 – 2015). Our vision is of a Nigeria where no woman dies from pregnancy related causes and Our Mission is to create awareness and opportunity for women and girls to realize their full potential in an environment that is safe for pregnancy and childbirth. A Healthy woman means a healthy family and a healthy Nation. RAiSE Foundation is based at Niger State, which is in the North Central part of Nigeria.

Objectives

  • Conduct Advocacy on the service gaps in maternal, newborn, and child health in Niger State.
  • Design Empowerment Strategies that strengthen women’s voices and participation at the community level.
  • Work with relevant social sector agencies for an integrated approach to health care for women, girls, and communities.
  • Coordinate programming that enables households and communities to participate in awareness generation to reduce maternal, Neonatal, and child deaths.
  • Engage in primary health care centers and other grassroots entry points to ensure services get to hard-to-reach communities.
  • Complement Niger State Government health care plan for women and girls.
