It is disheartening that Cervical cancer which is one of the most preventable and successfully treatable types of cancer still remains the most common cause of death In women globally.
As we remain committed towards its elimination, we explore advanced options towards early detection and treatment.
To this end, we carried out a technical demonstration of the Gynocular Colposcope device used to aid Cervical Cancer Screening.
This device is used to visualize the cervix during visual inspection and is able to detect precancerous or cancerous lessions using cutting edge optics and light emitting diode (LED)
Present at the foundation’s cancer screening centre for this training and practical demonstration was our Founder and Wife of the Executive Governor of Niger State Dr. Amina Abubakar Bello, representatives from the World Health Organization, Niger State Ministry of Health, Clinton Health Access Initiative, Niger state Primary health care development agency, Planned Parenthood Federation of Nigeria and O.C.I Foundation
