Together Against Cancer: A New Chapter with FLAC 2025

On June 28, 2025, RAiSE Foundation proudly joined the First Ladies Against Cancer (FLAC) at their 2025 Mid-Year Meeting and Dinner, standing united with leaders, advocates, survivors, and health champions across Nigeria in the ongoing fight against cancer.
The event was more than a gathering, it was a powerful call to action and a celebration of resilience. From inspiring survivor stories to renewed commitments, it marked the beginning of a new chapter in cancer advocacy, care, and collaboration.
Highlights from the Event:
1. Survivor Stories that Inspire Hope
Brave women shared their cancer journeys, stories of pain, strength, healing, and survival that reminded us all why this work matters. Their voices were filled with power and purpose, lighting a path for others to follow.
2. Launch of Friends of FLAC
To expand the impact of FLAC’s mission, the Friends of FLAC initiative was officially launched. This new network will help mobilize resources, partnerships, and awareness to support cancer patients across Nigeria.
3. Fundraising for Life-Saving Screenings and Treatment
The evening also included a fundraising appeal to help more women access early cancer screening, timely diagnosis, and critical treatments. Every naira raised brings another woman closer to hope, and survival.
4. Commitments for Cancer as a National Priority
First Ladies from various states made bold, public commitments to continue pushing for policy reform, improved healthcare access, and awareness campaigns, ensuring that cancer care remains a national health priority.
RAiSE Foundation’s Ongoing Commitment
RAiSE Foundation stands firmly with FLAC in the belief that no woman should face cancer alone. Through our joint efforts, we are:
- Promoting early detection and awareness at the community level
- Linking vulnerable women to affordable care and support services
- Advocating for stronger health systems and funding for cancer prevention and treatment
This collaboration reinforces our shared vision, a Nigeria where every woman has access to quality, life-saving cancer care regardless of location or income.
What’s Next?
As a new chapter begins, we move forward with renewed passion. FLAC2025 is not just a campaign, it’s a movement. And at RAiSE Foundation, we are proud to walk this journey with a united front.
Together, we are stronger. Together, we save lives.
