This International Women’s Day, We #EndFistula and Promote Safe Motherhood in Zabupi Village

At RAiSE Foundation, International Women’s Day is more than a celebration, it’s a call to action.
This year, we marked the day by taking impactful steps toward ending obstetric fistula and improving maternal health in rural Nigeria. In Zabupi Village, Paikoro Local Government Area, our team led a community dialogue to raise awareness about the importance of:
- Antenatal clinic attendance
- Facility-based deliveries
- And early prevention of conditions like obstetric fistula
To further support the women in attendance, we distributed free birth kits, a simple yet powerful tool in reducing maternal mortality and promoting safe childbirth.
For women already affected by obstetric fistula, we are committed to ensuring they receive the care they need. Through our partnership with the Fistula Foundation, we are linking these women to free fistula repair services at the Dr. Amina Bello Women Health Center, Kontagora.
Every woman deserves the right to safe childbirth, dignity, and quality healthcare, no matter where she lives.
Together, we are closing the gap in maternal health and creating a future where no woman is left behind.
