Strengthening Rural Maternal and Child Health: RAiSE Foundation Visits Model Clinic Paiko

As part of our ongoing commitment to improving Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (MNCH) in underserved communities, the RAiSE Foundation team recently conducted a monitoring visit to Model Clinic Paiko, located in Paikoro Local Government Area, Niger State.
This visit served as a powerful reminder of the challenges rural healthcare facilities face, and the vital role partnerships and community-based support play in addressing them.
Over the years, RAiSE Foundation has supported the clinic with:
- Essential birth kits distributed as incentives to encourage regular antenatal care and facility-based deliveries
- A tricycle ambulance, generously supported by the Africa Center of Excellence for Population Health and Policy (ACEPHAP), which is used to transport pregnant women in labor or emergencies, especially in hard-to-reach areas.
During this latest visit, we delivered an additional 20 birth kits to further promote antenatal attendance and ensure that more women choose safe, supervised deliveries at the clinic.
Our work in Paiko is a reflection of our broader vision, to bridge the gap in maternal and child health services for women and families in rural Nigeria.
Every kit delivered, every safe birth supported, and every life saved brings us one step closer to a healthier, more equitable future.
Together, we can make motherhood safer and childhood healthier, one community at a time.
